Rich in natural pastures, and natural resources, Injune is a microcosm of outback development, from old time family dairy farms to intensive modern farming and gas fields. Industry booms in Injune and the surrounding areas. Beef cattle production has been a staple industry of the area since the early days. Additionally the timber industry provides important employment for many, with two mills producing cypress pine and exporting to the world. In recent times, oil and gas production have become important to the area.
Injune lies on The Great Inland Way, a strategic tourism drive route spanning 2,700km from Sydney to Cairns. Injune is the base for travelers wishing to explore the Majestic Carnarvon Gorge National Park; Mt Moffatt National Park, Lonesome NP, Beilba NP and Lake Nuga Nuga.
Injune has a sealed and fenced public airstrip for private air transport. Fully sealed roads enable smooth transportation from Roma in the south, and Emerald in the north.
