Regional Updates

Announcements of new projects are occurring almost daily across the Surat Basin and each of the three Regional Councils are providing updates both for their communities and potential investors in their regions. Each Regional Council – Toowoomba, Western Downs and Maranoa have economic profiles that can be readily accessed. Western Downs Regional Council through Advance Western Downs updates businesses through its weekly News Monitor.

Business Resilience/Flood Recovery Workshops

In May and June 2011, the SBC delivered a series of workshops funded through the Queensland Government’s Regional Deveopment Inititiative fund.

The workshops focussed on building resilience in local businesses following the weather events of late 2010 and early 2011 and the contiuned impact of the GF. The workshops concentated on 2 key areas, Managing Cashflow in Difficult Times and Managing Staff in difficult Times.
